EpiStart transforms data into actionable knowledge through real time monitoring and analysis and automatic issue notification. EpiStart is designed to seamlessly adapt to upcoming Stage 2 and Stage 3 Meaningful Use requirements, ensuring that the system is future-proof—providing information integrity and peace of mind for Public Health Professionals and Health Practitioners.
Meaningful Use Compliance: Stage 2 meaningful use requirements have yet to be finalized and Stage 3 requirements are in the early draft stages. It is essential that the syndromic surveillance system that Public Health professionals select not only has a long and successful track record, but that it’s adaptable to whatever is coming in the years ahead.
EpiStart’s design ensures that it can easily incorporate changes in Meaningful Use requirements and/or technical standards.
Real Time Issue Notification: By monitoring the full spectrum of data provided by healthcare providers, including hospital emergency rooms, EpiStart detects and reports on potential public health issues.
When a potential issue is detected, EpiStart instantly sends out email notifications to alert Public Health Officials of the event. Notification emails contain a link directly to an EpiStart chart that displays the potential issue and provides information regarding the facility(ies) involved along with a limited amount of anonymous patient information.
